Spotlight 11th Festival of international promotional film

A successful commercial lasts 30 seconds whereas a film needs 90min. For the first time, Spotlight the festival of international promotional film takes place in the glamoure atmosphere of the Europa Park.

On April 26th, a Highlights so varied as amusing German-speaking spotlights will be shown in big SilverStar Dome in the traditional domains : the cinema and the TV, as well as in the new formats : Web and motives. Spectator make automatically left the big jury of public which gives their own price "Publikumsaward" same evening by digital vote. With your ticket: an attractive program to the Europa Park and the SWR3 Dance Night as the conclusion of the festival.

At the same time, Spotlight takes place for the creative branch in the Europa Park Dome. Also on Saturdays, there is between 10 am and 5 pm the congress of spotlight with the people in charge of the branch of publicity. The subject this year is " the publicity and the family ".

It's decided : beautiful Kim Valerie Voigt of Hanover is "Beauty queen Germany 2008" ! The most beautiful competition of the year, the 18-year-old candidate was imperative against her 21 competitors. The second is Beauty queen Bavaria, Anna Lena Freynhagen, on the third was delighted Beauty queen East Germany, Carina-Alexandra Nix.

February 2nd at about 11:15 pm: after three ballots was established happy winner, Kim Valerie Voigt. 22 Beauty queens of 16 States, came from Germany from the North, from the South, from the West, from the Center and from East Germany as well as the Beauty queen T-Online (the internet service of Deutsche Telekom) on scene in the brilliant atmosphere of the Europa Park Dome.

Among the members of the jury counted this year the world champion of box Arthur Abraham, the presenter Pierre Geisensetter, the top model Giulia Siegel as well as the top model Of Vize-Germany Next Yvonne Schröder. The holding of official reception was supervised by a program of grand show of the team show of the Europa Park.

In addition, different activities, workshops and science shows invite you to explore, invent, construct and experiment.

Whether the structure of a laser-phone, the stunning abilities of the human brain or the impact of an avalanche – in the Science House you and your family can learn a lot about science and technology! The Science House is the ideal destination for your family getaway, which combines plenty of fun with learning and knowledge.

Science House tickets can be purchased in combination with a visit to Europa-Park or separately.

Monday, January 28th, 22 participants of the election of Beauty queen Germany 2008 had for the first time a press conference in the hotel 4 stars Superior " Santa Isabel " !
Until finale, the other activities take place to Europa Park as the training in the microphone, a lesson of rhetoric for the candidates to the program. Then, in the last days, for finale, choreographies and scenes of show are to be studied.

Then on Saturday, February 2nd, 2008 at 8:00 pm, BEAUTY QUEEN GERMANY - FINALE 2008. A jury will elect the gagnate to the Europa Park Dôme and more than 200 journalists will again be spot to publish this event at the national level.

From 23 till 25 January took place the EAS on 2008 in Nice, Mack-Rides was present on the show. We were able to have some inquiries and confirmation :

- The new coaster will indeed be a launch coaster

- The inversions are confirmed but not the number

- Ce sera un coaster innovant

- In 99 % of sure, the achterbahn will have a part dark ride

- 1.6 miles are confirmed

The most beautiful women of Germany said their farewells to Europa Park to go in Egypt to a training camp. There they get ready for the election of " Beauty queen Germany 2008 " on February 02nd to the Europa Park Dome.

Breathless excitement and breathtaking beauty! 22 attractive young ladies will compete for the official title “Miss Germany 2008”. Basically, every one of the lovely finalists is predestined to win the title – but only one of them will be elected “Miss Germany 2008” by a celebrity jury. Who will be the one? On February 2nd, the Miss Germany election will take place in the event location Europa-Park Dome already for the 6th time. On this evening, the Miss Germany Corporation (MGC) will honour the winner of the renowned beauty pageant with the official title “Miss Germany 2008”. The event is presented by Ines Kuba – Miss Germany 1992 and Queen of the World 1993 – and the popular German TV presenter Ingo Dubinski. The event starts at 5.30 pm with a reception in the lobby of the Europa-Park Dome. A 3-course-dinner is served at 6.30 pm and the show starts at 8.00 pm.

Drama in "Stars auf Eis"

It appeared dramatically. And it was dramatic. The world champion Denise Biellmann falls in "Stars auf Eis" on Thursday evening on the ice. And she stays where she are. No movement, any sign that she is well. The technicians stop the music. And 1000 spectators of the big room of Europa Park's ice congeal in the silence. Two male nurses run on the ice. After some anxious seconds, rescuers help her. In the infirmary, the dislocated shoulder, she is put under anaesthesia by a doctor. The Swiss is brought in safety to the hospital Ettenheim. Two hours later, she returns with a shoulder put back in "Stars auf Eis". The colleagues are relieved that she does not end "Stars auf Eis" with a long stay in private hospital.

Katarina Witt : "I know Denise for a very long time. And I know that his articulation of shoulder is its weak point. She dislocated it already several times in shows. If the spectacle on ice seems easy, it is also a hard sport."

If the doctors agree, Denise Biellmann wants to take back again the spectacle next week. "I already passed once three days after this wound elect one suit", says the Swiss under pains with a smile. SWR3 Party-Nacht 2008 in Europa-Park

For the second time, Europa-Park organizes for the departure of season 2008 March 15th in association with SWR3, pop-radio number 1 of Germany, SWR3 Party-Nacht to Europa Park. The biggest leisure park of Germany becomes from 8.00 pm a zone of gigantic feast with the music in Live, Pop-Poesie, DJs and of varieties in more than ten extraordinary places.

The admittance for the SWR3 Party-Nacht is already from 5.00 pm. Then, the roisterers can enjoy furthermore than 100 attractions and shows before is transformed from 8.00pm the places separated in the festive zone. We party with numerous scenes till 2.00 am. Six hours the pleasure of non-stop feast !

Exclusively the following attractions are longer opened for the visitors of the SWR3 Party-Nacht: Silver Star and Euro-Mir till 8.00 pm. Geisterschloss, pirate of Batavia, Atlantis as well as the curse of Kassandra is at the arrangement of the guests also in the evening. Magic Cinema 4D, euro Tower and Eurosat are opened till midnight.

What’s new in 2008 ?

On 15th March, Europa-Park will open its doors again with new attractions. A whole lot of fun is offered in two new family rides: In the “Crazy Taxi” the visitors will really go wild while the “London Bus” takes them on a sightseeing tour that will make their heads spin. Plenty of family action is guaranteed, when even the youngest visitors embark on the fun journey in the English themed area, where rides take on a whole new dimension!

In addition, hungry adventurers can enjoy delicious Asian specialities after a venturous boat trip through the Indonesian jungle from 2008 on! A new self-service restaurant inside the popular indoor attraction “Pirates in Batavia” in the Dutch themed area offers exotic treats in an Asian ambience.

In 2008, Europa-Park will be open from 15th March until 2nd November, daily from 9 am to 6 pm (longer opening hours during peak season).

Europa Park announces to have reached the 4 million visitors, but really the park did not reach this record. It was a blow of pub of the park, the service of the wintry season was very bad. Michael, cordial congratulations with the Terenzi Horror Nights (THNs) crowned success. In spite of the additional entry, hardly 15.000 visitors came in the park from the horror. In our last interview, you said that your idea started some racing in your father and the remainder of the family. There was a little skepticism. Can you convince your family by success now? How long now, the concept is continued?

Michael Mack
Success speaks in theory by itself - 15.000 visitors is to be received for one evening moreover in the park naturally the class. In the conversation with Universal with the IAAPA, the surprise on this quantity of visitors was also brought to me by the American parks. Up to this point it is
certainly a success with the regard on acceptance at the market.
We can increase with the economic regard - that many artists of America came to us, it is naturally dependent on expenses that each customer does not include immediately. Thus, 15 euros for this organization are inevitably, precisely because of the short time of validity and the qualitatively high expenditure for costumes, the make-up and logistics.
The second year ago and we hope that economically will be established of same the third year. There will be surely no complete opening of the park for of Horror-Freunde, in more the German market is far away from the set of themes of Halloween. But there will in the future remain an additional offer surely with our combination of the experiment of family with much of marrows the day, the show of Mysteria the evening and as the conclusion can build Terenzi Horror Nights. And there is not diversity precisely season like that, until at all on the market.

Were filled With 15.000 visitors, your waitings have filled they or have even exceeded they?

Michael Mack
I had before a a whole representation on quality of the product however we did not have any idea on the quantity of the visitors. Clearly I wanted that the concept fills the proof and hoped that that becomes a success. Precisely in the first week, we changed many things and improved much of details. But what is increasingly important for me: waitings of the visitors must be
filled and I believe between us to have already succeeded with this first.

Which experiments collected this year? What do you want to make better the next year?

For the next year, any immense house, but, however, an extension of the sector Terenzi Horror Nights existing. Mid-March, we will already start to project the version 2008 and with planning. In 2008 there will not be an immense increase, but we want to still test the concept a year. Precisely for guests of hotel and the evening, I think, it will be again a very interesting offer.

Your brother Thomas Mack proclaimed in the “Talk Travel”, with number 45 that in attraction “the pirates in Batavia” a restaurant must be built. As of the beginning of 2008 the visitor must see a Dinner show here directly after the voyage. How does one have to represent that? How is the restaurant presented ?

Michael Mack
The demolitions occur already in background - precisely the electricity supply for an installation of kitchen must be reinforced here. After this work infrastuctural is achieved, we can advance further with planning. That will be surely supplemented with a subject of pirate and will appear another offer here. In front of the tree, in the last turn, a scene of show will appear and a concept of interior also already exists; but concrete plannings are made only with the course the next weeks. The whole, Greek evening, Spanish evening, etc “will certainly fit in the line of the evenings of Confertainment crowned with success".

In the English set of themes, the excavators have also advanced and already demolished “Mystery Hall”. Which innovations await the visitor in the English set of themes in the season 2008?

There will be a rural regrouping of the English set of themes of the concept of Michel den Dulk and extension in 2006. They is relatively calm corners of the park and we want to address here to children and families which can also visit the world of the children and then enter from there the English set of themes.
They will be here two Flat-rides of the Zamperla company of Italy. Once in Crazy Bus and Indoor Demolition Derby.

During the winter closing of the park big works are finally going to be able to begin:

- At the Beginning of January, 08 the beginning of works of the displacement of the road which will have to be finished before March 15th (date of reopening of the park).

- At the Beginning of April, 08 start of works of the extension of the park of 15ha and at the beginning of the building of the new coaster (certain pillars are besides already marked on the soil).

- In April, 09, in the reopening of the park, the coaster will be finished but also the second left the Portuguese quarter.

From other information to come on the coaster shortly !

And therefore for 2008, they begin knowing about it a little more every days:

- There will be the 2 flat-rides in the quarter English first of all.

- Undoubtedly a rehabilitation of Eurosat :

- The film of Magic Cinéma 4D should change: title should be "Atlantis".

- A rehabilitation of the pirates of Batavia will take place, as well as the development of a restaurant (plan left in 1991) inside this last instead of the jungle :

Summary works novelty 2008 - 2009

2008 will be the beginning of big works to Europa Park (among which some works already begun) !Let us begin first of all with the beginning of the works of the English district which will welcome from the opening of the season 2008 two flat-rides who will be built on the place of the Hall of the Baron William.

The first one flat-ride will be one Demolition Derby (to the left on the plan) of Zamperla, here is the video of the builder :

Second flat-ride (to the right on the plan) will be Crazy Bus of same builder, here is the video :

Besides these 2 attractions we shall be entitled as every year, of numerous rehabilitations.

Then as regards the other works, they will last more than year. First of all the movement of the road which goes along the park :

The movement of this road is going to allow the park to pass from 70 to 85 hectares, this increase will represent approximately 25 million euro of investment over one and a half year. There will be not only a road who will be moved but also the administrative premises and the certain workshops which will be in the center of the park.
